报告题目(中文):Mechanoluminescence Materials And Their Applications

报告内容简介:Mechanoluminescence (ML) that exhibit mechano-electro-optoelectronic conversion and undergo multiple cycles of ML emission in response to repetitive dynamic load have tremendous potential in diverse areas of engineering and medicine.[1-5] In particular, piezoluminescence is promising candidate for applications, including stress-sensing and damage diagnosis, where it generates dynamic in situ visualization of stress distributions, including industrial plants and buildings. Precise dynamic stress/strain imaging is critical for a broad range of researches and engineering analyses ranging from micrometer to meter-scales, but there is no precise multi-scale strain sensor, especially for onsite real-time structural health monitoring. A scalable piezoluminescent strain sensor is presented for challenge to solve worldwide structural diagnosis problems ranging from micrometer to meter-scales. Significant progresses are recently made on both the highly sensitive piezoluminescent sensors and the quantitative evaluations in dynamic stress/strain imaging. The precise dynamic imaging of stress/strain and the onsite fracture inspection and danger-level (stress concentration) diagnoses on large-scale infrastructures are demonstrated. The innovative scalable strain sensor would prospectively open a new era in multi-scale strain imaging research and contribute to multi-field researches related precise dynamic stress/strain imaging and healthcare of structure. This talk will discuss the physical mechanisms of piezoluminescence, materials, and applications. Selected host materials and metal-ion activators are used for demonstrating the fundamentals. These materials are promising for applications in visualization, health care system for nondestructive analysis, nano-sensing, security, energy harvesting, biomedicine, novel light sources, and displays.
